A STORY OF SLAVERY AND FREEDOM
Reviewed by: Rosella
Genre: Biography
Rating: 4.5/5
If you like reading biographies or books about slavery then you will definitely appreciate this book.
This book tells the story of Henry Bibb and, his experiences and feelings.
This book allowed you to be Henry and feel what he felt. To experience what he experienced. This book had a ton of tragedy and showed how unfair slavery is. It opened my eyes to how bad prejudice and racism really was back then. I'm happy to say that most racism has subsided, though unfortunately there is still some around.
Likes: The story flowed nicely and let you make your own opinions without forcing the thoughts of the character on you.
Dislikes: Well, I didn't have any dislikes about how the book was written. I did have a dislike towards the end of the plot but, I'm not going to say what, so that I can avoid spoiling anything.
*Note: This book has mentions of rape and describes abuse. For mature/older readers only!
