IN ROSEWOOD, PENNSYLVANIA, FOUR PERFECT-LOOKING GIRLS AREN'T NEARLY AS PERFECT AS THEY SEEM.
Aria can't resist her forbidden ex. Hanna is on the verge of losing her BFF. Emily is freaking out over a simple kiss. And Spencer can't keep her hands of anything that belongs to her sister.
Lucky me. I know these pretty little liars better than they know themselves. But it's hard keeping all of their secrets to myself. They better do as I say...or else - A
The suspense just keeps building and building. I, personally already know who A is because one of my friends –cough; Aria; cough—likes to spoil things for me. It may sound like this ruins the whole series for me but it doesn’t. It actually helps me out because I look at all the hints and clues that Sara Shepard dropped. This thinking process will hopefully help me become the author I dream to be.
Anyway back to the book—I actually liked hearing more of Aria’s story. To be honest I watched the TV show first (book traitor, I know) and liked Aria the most out of the four girls. That quickly changed. I personally find her to be kind of a slut. [SPOILERS ALERT]. Aria just can’t seem to make up her mind; she’s obsessed with Ezra and then flirts with Noel (to make Ezra jealous) and actually enjoys it. Then she catches up with her feelings for Ezra but for more than the obvious reason (read and find out) he’s far out of her reach. She then moves on to Sean. Yes, HANNA’S Sean. Even if they broke up, every girl knows you don’t date a friend’s ex (no matter who did the dumping) until a while after the break up (unless you have permission). And since Aria has kept her dad’s secret from her mom, she gets kicked out of the house “temporarily”. She then moves in with Sean and his family who are way too “formal” which makes her uncomfortable. And guess what? Aria screws it up with Sean too (for Ezra). This leaves only one place for Aria to live—her dad’s house (she's too chicken to even ask him!)
I actually have an issue with Ella (Aria’s mother) kicking her out. I’m not saying she doesn’t deserve it (because she sure does) but I just found it out of character. I believed that the way Ella acted in the TV show was more believable.
Likes: Even though it's mainly Aria's story, they still told the stories of the other three girls.
Dislikes: Aria.
