Two exes. One holiday adventure. Merry Ex-mas?
Seventeen-year-old Lila Beckwith's parents just left for vacation, and Lila's all set to throw the holiday party of the season. But when her Christmas-obsessed little brother, Cooper, discovers that global warming is melting the North Pole, he and his best friend, Tyler, take off on a runaway mission to save Santa.
Lila has to get Cooper safely home before her parents get back on Christmas Eve. But the only person who can help her is Tyler's older brother, Beau--a.k.a. Lila's musician, anti-everything ex-boyfriend.
It'll take more than a Christmas miracle for Lila and Beau to overcome their differences and find their fugitive brothers. But could a journey destined for disaster help these polar opposites fall in love...all over again?
I personally, was not a big fan of Lila but could relate to her. I think that she and I are very similar, except she is more forward. I personally would not have ever ditched Beau (I sorta have a crush on him) but I can see why Lila did. We later find out that it was not just for her own selfish reasons.
I really enjoyed this book. It was really sweet and I finished it in one sitting. I really enjoyed the part where Lila and Beau were shopping for jackets. I could really visual the scene and I thought that it was just so cute and funny!
I was very frustrated with Lila with her reaction to the situation she had when she got home. Granted, I probably would have done the same--well no, I would have pretended, which I guess is also rude. But, I thought she was just so stupid for going along with it! However, I liked the way that the book ended and do not wish to change it. The plot was predictable and cliché, but I enjoyed it all the same.
Likes: Lila, Beau, Cooper, Tyler
Dislikes: Carly, Erik, and the rest of Lila's clique.
