A Valentine's Day dance at Greg's middle school has turned his world upside down. As Greg scrambles to find a date, he's worried he'll be left out in the cold on the big night. His best friend, Rowley, doesn't have any prospects either, but that's a small consolation. An unexpected twist gives Greg a partner for the dance and leaves Rowley the odd man out. But a lot can happen in one night, and in the end, you never know who's going to be lucky in love.
As always, this book never failed to crack me up! I flew through the pages and laughed and laughed. The story felt so real while still teaching me a couple of lessons, as well as Gregory of course.
The book starts with it's usual main character, Gregory and then throughout the story, he starts to realize so many things while still having a great humor effect. He never fails to be a likable character, even though some of his antics may seem to make you think otherwise.
I really liked all the characters and they story and just seeing them from the mind of Gregory was hilarious and entertaining. I couldn't put the book down because something new was happening at every moment and the characters were just doing the craziest things.
The ending was expected but nonetheless entertaining. It was interesting to see the different twists the book took while still incorporating so many likable and thoughtful elements that was interesting and entertaining. :) I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! :)
Likes: Greg, Rowley, the ending, humorous, thoughtful, entertaining, character development, Greg's family, something happening at every moment
Dislikes: Nothing. :)
*Note: If you want to start the series, start with Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
