It ends with a bang! While Queen B has returned to the lap of luxury, she’s keeping on the down-low to exact her sweet revenge on everyone who wronged her. But when she outs little J’s secret at the school auction — going so far as to involve the police — V thinks the Queen has gone too far and leaks clips of the film she’s been making showcasing B’s domestic talents. Now V has disappeared, and B is left to pick through the wreckage of her high school career as everyone is gearing up for the next stage of their lives. Are there any relationships left for B to salvage as she faces the future?
I was really excited to read this novel because I was left in suspense from Gossip Girl: For Your Eyes Only: Volume 2. The drama, the romance, and the twists and turns kept me flipping through the pages!
I absolutely loved the plot. It was funny, romantic, and drama at every corner. It was a Blair and Jenny war. It proved that Jenny could stand up to Blair, and she wasn't backing down.
But of course Blair has some tricks up her sleeve, which ends up getting her into trouble with the other characters. I really liked the distinction between all the characters, because they all had a unique personality. I'm glad that the author took time to really show the emotions between the characters and what they wanted. The romances and the love triangles were especially entertaining. There was so much heart-wrenching moments for some of the characters, and I absolutely loved it! :)
There were a few things that disappointed me while I was reading this manga novel, though. Serena was not a main character throughout the book, and I was actually looking forward to her side of things. She became a secondary character, which I was little confused about. Dan and Blair also kiss, which ends up stirring more trouble, but it is left on a thread.
The ending I also felt was not satisfying enough. I felt like I was left on a thread because the story wasn't completely wrapped up. There was some threads that were hanging loose and needed to be picked up. It was an ending, but I didn't believe it completely wrapped everything up.
But this isn't to say that the book wasn't amazing. I loved reading through the story up until the climax, and I was flipping through the pages. The epilogue was especially entertaining, and I was glad that they brought it out.
I loved the comedy and the humour, and I loved how the story showed so many elements and components while still providing such an entertaining read. :)
Likes: Chuck + Blair, Dan + Vanessa, Jenny + Nate, Vanessa's quirkiness, comedic relief from Vanessa and Chuck, Blair getting a sense of what's right and wrong, the epilogue
Dislikes: The ending, Serena being a secondary character
*Note: This book contains some mature content such as some sexual content and language.
**Note: If you want to start the series, start with Gossip Girl: For Your Eyes Only: Volume 1.
