Six unforgettable kids—with no families, no homes—are running for their lives. Max Ride and her best friends have the ability to fly. And that's just the beginning of their amazing powers. But they don't know where they come from, who's hunting them, why they are different from all other humans... and if they're meant to save mankind—or destroy it.
I loved the feeling of family that this group of friends had. I love their relationships with on another, and their friendly banter. I was constantly concerned for them, and worried. I was horrified when Angel was captured.
I love the twists in this book. And the characters were quite realistic (if you ignore the fact that it's a sci-fi/fantasy novel. Max wasn't an undefeatable hero. She was scared and doubted her leadership abilities. I was so happy that she got a break, because she really deserved a chance to relax, and act her age.
I enjoyed this book, but I found it a bit unrealistic, how the characters easily found one another. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and want to know more about the secrets and reasons behind the experiments and the new powers.
Likes: The characters.
Dislikes: This would include spoilers.
