STILL REELING from the death of her best friend, Kay, Billi is thrust into action when the Templars are called to investigate werewolf activity. And these werewolves are like nothing Billi has ever seen.
They call themselves the Polenitys--Man-Killers. These ancient warrior women of Eastern Europe were supposedly wiped out centuries ago. But now they've come out of hiding and are on the hunt for a Spring Child--an oracle powerful enough to start a Fimbulwinter that will wipe out humankind of good.
To reclaim the Spring Child and save the world, Billi needs to earn the trust of Ivan Romanov, a young Russian soldier who is suspicious of people in general, and of Billi in particular.
Folklore and myth become darkly real in this stunning adventure, a story of the world running out of time. And of Billi SanGreal, the only one who can save it.
If you saw my review for the first book (Devil's Kiss) you'd know that I did not enjoy it very much. This book however, I enjoyed very much. I'm not sure why because typically the storyline for the first book would be more interesting for me but I loved this book a lot more than the first.
The first book seemed kind of rushed to me while this book took it's time and had a steady pace without dragging the story out. I think it also had to do with the cover. In my opinion this cover suits the storyline. The cover for Devil's Kiss did not suit it; it made me get the wrong idea for the story which made it less appealing and less entertaining.
I really did enjoy this book and would definitely read it again. The ending was a tad bit confusing. I was very happy that Billi (spoiler for Devil's Kiss) got a new love interest. However the last scene between Billi and said love interest made me confused. If my understanding of it is accurate then I'm very sad that once again things were screwed up. (end spoiler).
This was truly an enjoyable book.
