Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice.
But just as life is returning to normal, Laurel discovers that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.
In my opinion, Laurel and Tamani should be together because they're perfect for each other. Of course I would feel bad for David but Tamani represents who Laurel really is, and he understands perfectly. Oddly enough, this love triangle reminded me of the one from Twilight. These two stories are nothing alike and it was only the love triangle that reminded me of Twilight. Yes, there are many love triangles out there and they seem to be an on going trend but I find these two were specifically, very similar.
Laurel was head-over-heels for David but couldn't deny the special connection between herself and Tamani. Of course she tried hard not to string him along but she ended up doing just about that anyways for most of the book. Shockingly, I ended up hating Laurel by the end of this book. I hated how she kept going back and forth between Tamani and David. Sure, she told Tamani that their relationship was strictly platonic but her behaviour towards him proved otherwise. I honestly don't know if Laurel deserves Tamani--or David for that matter.
If I were to have it my way Tamani and Laurel would be together. I think that if Laurel did choose Tamani, David and Chelsea would end up together. I don't know if Laurel and David would be able to remain friends. And now that I think about it, I would actually be very upset if Laurel and David weren't friends. On second thought, I also wouldn't mind Yuki and Tamani being together but that's obviously not going to happen.
On another note I really love the different erm...natures(?) of the first three books from this series. Wings is about David and Laurel with a touch of Tamani. Spells is about Tamani and Laurel (as friends) with a touch of David/Laurel. And finally this book is about all three of them smashed together.
This is an amazing series and you should most definitely read it! Beautifully crafted, as Aria would say. ;)
